When doing those spacers you will invariaby want different lengths to what you get...

And will see a few extra holes to allow the seat to be moved back or forwards too. And underneath 4 more bolts allow its depth to be increased or decreaeased too.

With those and the base of the lift adjusted you will eventually find the correct position! About the 5th go! Took me a few days to finalise where I wanted it.

So spacers arrived today, m8 x 40mm great, what I didn't check was the OD and this is 13mm, is that going to be to narrow? if they are, what is the ideal/largest OD you would suggest/fit, I don't want to take the chair apart until i am ready to do the job in one go, I use it every night whilst the other is on charge. so reluctant to take it apart just to find this information and then put it back together again. thanks.

Should be OK? Do they look strong?

Mine were about 16mm.

decided to get some 16mm ones should be hear Tuesday. so I have no lifting gear, so my thought was to take foot rest off as thats a very heavy part and slide the back rest out. is that a reasonable approach to this job.

I did it with much frustration while everything was assembled with top plate removed. Very fiddly. The 4 bolts you remove are allen head and are loctited. You need to hit them with a gas torch for about 15 secs, dont over do it and start burning paint or anything! That defeats the loctite.

If you want more thaan a few degrees you may want longer than 40mm at front.

So inserting the spacers went very smoothly, very happy with the results. I also moved the seat backwards.

Going back to the powered centre legrest, what appears to happen is that when the legrest is in the vertical position with no angle on it, then you have legrest height adjustment, as soon as you put in some legrest angle on it you loose the ability of the legrest height adjustment. so this is probably by design and no doubt an inhibit kicks in, looking back you did suggest disabling the inhibits, a friend helping me to sort the seat out spotted this.

Thanks for all your help BM

You have done what I keep on trying to explain to people, including techs, wheelchair services etc.

You take a chair. Then you take it by the scruff of the neck and turn it into the chair that FITS YOU. It doesent mater if that needs a saw, a welder, some machining, programming, different parts, or if its just a few adjustments that the chair is designed to accomodate. Its not "done" until it IS. Excuses, time, lack of knowledge or innaility, or refusal to make non "standard" changes just does not ever work. Every brand new custom char needs at least some custom and complicated work.

I estimate that 95% of chairs and users do not get more than 10% of whats needed to configure a chair properly.

The ordering and delivery process, and an initial half hour "fitting" you into it is NOT CLOSE to adequate. Usually. Most dont and never will get it.
