Old Style Permobil Seat Lift

Postby Rye » 22 Jan 2026, 22:53

The seat lift on my Permobil C300 somehow went up too high and unscrewed itself. So I've removed it an tried to rethread it with no luck. The internal bolt spins fine with the provided long allen wrench and the lower gear and belt spin when turning the internal bolt. But the internal bolt will not mate with the upper shaft even when clamped together. Any suggestions?

Nevermind...apparently there's what I assume is a plastic stabilizer at the bottom of the upper shaft. It was keeping it from reaching the threads. I just took one blade from a pair of scissors and scraped the plastic back a little and reclamped it. I heard it move just a little further, past the plastic and it threaded right in. It always works out that after I post a problem to this board, I soon after find the solution.

I really hated that style of seat lift when I had a permobile

Always felt extremely unstable like I was about to tip over at any moment
