Pity there's not an English version of their site, though Google makes a fair stab at the translation. How do they compare on price v buying direct or UK suppliers?

Cheapest I ever got was http://www.evassemble.com and they too will build a pack. Just don't let them include their crap BMS!

Answered my own question... a 48v/60Ah (16S4P) kit is £1310, eclipsebikes is £1043, so about 30% more. evassemble is £845 plus import duty & VAT if you're unlucky (about 30%, so £1,100). Unless you can be sure of not getting stung, eclipsebikes looks the better bet...

@ Irving: well, I have a quote which is a few days old: 4s6p 12Ah Headway with all connctors, a charge lead (M6 to Anderson SB 50) extra long and a balancer cable (M6 to XH) costs EURO 609 (incl. a sales tax of 19 %).

Most of the time http://www.evassemble.com is indeed the prefered source but import duties (China to EU) and a 20 % sales tax in Austria have to be added. They do "creative shipping" but customs are very strict here.

My Swiss-made MicroMotor motors came via a German shipper as their plant is almost on the Swiss-German border. Guess what, Germany refused to apply reduced VAT for them, and, of course, Switzerland is non-EU so VAT gets charged by customs. Stuff coming into Italy via courier (DHL etc.,) almost always gets charged full 22% VAT no matter what labels are on the box and attached to the manifest. The customs office almost never sees neither the package nor the manifest; the couriers only show them a consolidated list with standard codes. Only if a package gets delayed for one of their detailed spot checks will it be charged reduced VAT. Once the full VAT gets charged, getting a refund is purely hypothetical - probably will take as long as getting an Italian income tax refund (average 8 years) and will surely cost far more for processing it than the value of the refund.

If possible, I've taken to having most non-EU stuff sent by ordinary post. Much slower, BUT (1) intrinsically costs less, (2) the customs agent at the port-of-entry post office actually sees the package and I have the shipper attach a bi-lingual declaration for our 4% handicapper VAT rate, (3) there's no VAT on postage though there is on courier shipping fees, (5) most postal packages valued under E50 are exempt from VAT and customs handling fees. For stuff from China it's very, very slow - usually at least 3 weeks, and can take up to 5 weeks, with most of that time in Italy, but the saving is > 30% between VAT and shipping costs.

EVASSEMBLE like many Chinese suppliers mark them or ship them "well"... Its unusual to have a problem buying from hong kong or china. But from the US its every time...

Either that or customs is so mistrustful of Chinese that they actually check the packages rather than a meaningless list of codes defined in something like 1929.

I have bought cameras and lenses for years from hong kong, powerchair and hobby stuff, chargers, etc sometimes 4 or 6 packages a week from china. Solar inverters etc. Batteries. Only ever got one customs stop. For a pair of solar inverters. But they charged VAT on just 1. Because of the way they were shipped.

Yet EVERYTHING from the US that is shipped via the national carrier USPS and delivered by ours the Post Office, never fails to get huge charges. And an additional rip off for collection from customs that should be charged at source. Use FedEx or similar and its 50/50.

Because on the picture. It says "two channel, 50v 2X 150 amp controller. If you look here, only the vdc2450 has "2X 150 amp". The HDC 2450 just says 150 amp, not 2x 150 amp.

Burgerman, how long do you think a new pair of Quickie Groove motors will last on your BM3?

Is it worthwhile to buy a used set of 8.5 mph motors off eBay like these? Well, not these 6.5 mph listed. Some nice 8.5 mph motors off a chair that never left a nursing home, for instance.
Might be worthwhile to buy a used chair just for the motors if you could get one cheap.

I would NEVER go to the trouble of building a chair and fit used motors.
New every build. These are the bits that wear and lose efficiency.

How long will they last?
Well as long as you never exceed the design 120A (SET in ROBOTEQ) they never make more torque than in the 24v application. And as long as you never exceed say 70C, then the extra RPM is pretty much irrelevant.

So I would expect no issues.

I am just ordering the (final?) batch from Switzerland. Import duties will be a pain...

The last steady supply (on the photo you see LOTS of chargers!) seems to be from China (http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product ... 63334.html) for USD 320,-- each. If you buy 3 or more the price drops to USD 288,--.

Quickie Groove 8.5 Motor - US comparable
Is there an US equivalent to the Groove 8.5 motor? Found some motors at https://www.quickie-wheelchairs.com/ that state 8.5 but does not list other specs. Plus the price average price of 950 per motor seems kind of unusual from other post on this site. Any information will be helpful thanks

My old powerchair's battery box (a Quickie v121) has a 30A circuit breaker between 2 lead acid batteries. I see 30A circuit is too small and it actually annoys me much. When I move on rough roads or drive a bit fast continuously, it frequently breaks.

I am looking for a 50A circuit breaker for replacing. Can I use any 50A circuit breaker? Or do I have to need a breaker specialized for powerchairs which is safer, solider ...? In case the breaker is not an auto-voltage 12-24V, which voltage (12V or 24V) the breaker must be for proper using in the battery box?

Could anyone suggest me links which are selling good 50A circuit breakers?
