1(8s) or 2(4s) Lithium cell Battery(s)

Postby saker98 » 14 Jan 2026, 14:30

Hello all,

I am currently using an F55s with 2 Fogstar 100ah Lithium Batteries all wired in series to a Victron Smart Shunt 500a with Midpoint Monitoring to 14.4v(12v) / 28.8v(24v) Confirmed with Fogstar..

I have since purchased 8x230ah Lithium cells from Amy, my problem is that they will not fit the battery box on my BM3 Chair they are 2mm to short on the width.

Does anyone know or can show me of a way to wire as an 8S or does have to be 2x4S using the above photo as a guide.

Thanking all in advance

Really not sure what you mean.
2x 4S packs is exactly the same as 1x 8s pack?

All 8 cells are in series regardless.

John,

Can you suggest another way to position the cells so that they will fit in his battery box? What's in his photo seems to waste a lot of space.

Thank you, just what I was trying to ask, but it might not have come across that way? The photo shows the only way I could fit all the cells in the box. Thanks

Shirley,

I was not sure of the way to go, I worked out 2 x 4 cells and think I just got stuck there, over thinking it banghead

Many thanks also. cheers

Thanks to all
James

I see. I dont think there is another way. This is one of tose cases where you measure twice, cut once or buy in this case.

They do not go into a normal GRP 24 chair either without the creative placemens shown here:

But this doesent help you.
