Idea's needed for headswitch mount

Postby fishinjunky » 14 Mar 2026, 16:01

I use two egg switches to operate tilt and recline. I have them mounted on my headrest with a Ram mount where I can hit the them with the side of my head. The Ram mount is bulky and far from ideal.
For my new chair I'm looking for a mount that is made for mounting switches to the headrest. I would like the switches to be one on left side of headrest Pad and one on the right.
I have only been able to find the headswitch mount made by Stealth Products (SAR2B series).
Anyone have any ideas or other mounts?

Wouldnt a simple U shaped headrest pad of the correct shape work. With simple smooth momentary push switches each side drilled through. Connected at the rear.

Many here.

Rachi used a homemade 3-switch mount. Two at the sides on spring-loaded arms so they could not injure her when she had a neck-twisting spasm, and one embedded in the center pad of her headrest. It's much less bulky than what you've been using. I'll post a pic or two, but you'll have to be patient as I'm very involved in adapting what was Rachi's computer system for use by another handicapper with a different spectrum of abilities.
