Accessible Housing

Postby NackerNed » 18 Aug 2024, 19:55

I have a friend going through a divorce. He and his wife own their own home outright. However she wants him to leave asap. He uses a wheelchair 99% of the time, has a WAV, a power chair and a manual. Is he entitled to housing benefit to find an accessible property? He does not require any extra care, just a property he can access. TIA

Not if he owns half a house as far as I know. It should be her that leaves surely?

This i why I never got married. Basically you are buying a woman a house!

If you forget the married part, then he would be applying for benefits for a 2nd property surely?

Anyway, the liebour party are in. Black africans muslim immigrant rapeugees now get priority to housing, fancy hotels, free fones and cash. Vote reform.

I think the only thing is they have 4 disabled children living in the property. Would that not be taken into consideration?

Honestly no idea.
Probably.

If he arrives in a rubber boat, blacks his face and throws his iphone and passport in the sea, garanteed a fancy hotel, free food, free medical, free spending money and a free soliciter, and now a council house ahead of anyone else.

Seriously asking here is not the answer. He needs to contact his LA or stay where he is until something is sorted out.

Marriage is OK when it works. More often than not though it doesent. At least not indefinitely. And then the problems begin.

Unless you plan of kids etc I do not see the point of it in todays world. In the past it was more important to give a platform where a couple would work together to bring up kids and it was almost impossible to live without this partnership. Women had no support system, if they were single. Men worked women usually didnt. Men brought in money, women brought up kids and ran the house. Today women have all the equality and government hand outs and dont need a man. Where is the advantage of being married? Just seems like a good way to give away a house! Especially if you are daft enough to do this sevral times.
