Yep. VERY common from many places. I use three different places that will sell small quantities to individuals within a 40 minute drive of my house, and I live farther from the city than anyone I know. We typically buy sheets in fractional sizes - 1/8, 1/4, 3/4 inch, etc and gauge sizes below 1/8 inch though. The most common standard length x width is 4x8 feet (48x96 inches). I just bought some, had it laser cut, and shipped to my house for cheaper than I could have machined it myself when you consider my time and tooling, not to mention the difficulty handling the material. Cutting out 2d flat parts is hard on tooling and slow with a CNC milling machine. I don't have a laser, plasma, or waterjet.
Metric sizes are available but not common - as far as I know.
