Well maybe. But maybe not. Almost every tiny villiage has a church, small towns many, and they all look pretty simiar to me and built in the same way from stone etc.
All left over from the days when religion was a thing and most people all had an imaginary freind. Now many are derelict, gone, converted into homes or offices or pubs etc. Mortly abandoned. Some still try to keep running with charges for weddings and funerals and a congregation of 3 old people and 2 immigrants... The one in my town keeps doors open mostly by opening as a resturant open daily, with the odd wedding in summer. Not much religious stuff going on at all. They currently have a art display and a collection box shaker guy with a fancy frock and a pointy stick at the exit!
Architecture and all is great. Most are 10th to 12th century. Some even older.

How it stays open... Resturant every day.
Art gallery most weeks or months.
Weddings - mostly for the photography by athiests looking for a nice wedding venue.
