A famous scientist that was religious once sat down and ripped out every page of his book that went against what he really believed or knew to be false. What was left was almost nothing. And he then said that he still believed it. With no evidence, and his own logic and reason destroying that book. So its something that in many cannot be fixed. Its a mind virus, a human desease that parents and the religous pass on to their children and anyone else they can infect.
The mainstream religions in the US and elsewhere look at say mormons or scientologists and think that those are bat shit crazy nutters. But they dont see that the non affected athiests in countries were we dont have that brainwashing culture see THEM in the exact same way.
I mention this as I just had 2 US boys banging on my door to convert me as the warm weather is here. Its starting again. Have I heard about jesus?
