D-SUB 13W6 Pin Connection Wiring Diagram?

Postby Scooterman » 12 Aug 2025, 10:28

Hi, has any one got a wiring diagram of the pin connections we use for Lithium? I've already got d-sub 13W6 on a powerchair and mobility scooter, and charge leads but I can't remember how I wired them up? One of my cables Shirley wired up so I would have wired it up the same.
The 7 data are obviously the balance wires and I think one of the power pins we use for the balance wire no.1. Something like that. And we bridge a couple of the power pins to spread load across two pairs of power pins.

Thanks BM  .

I think Shirley got me my 13w6 d-subs. He pre-wired a male and female for me for my mobility scooter and included a few blank spare ones. They've been great, no problems. I wired up one of the blank female ones for my Salsa R2 but can't remember what I did?

I'll wait until tomorrow morning when hopefully he's back online. I will stick with the 13w6 as I don't want to start mixing connector types. If he can't remember I'll figure it out myself.

You may assign any 2 of the large pins as balance leads.

I choose the 2 outermost pins for that. The neighbouring 2 pins are bridged to carry big current.
By doing so, the thick charge cables will be able to avoid hitting the binding posts (red arrows). It is difficult to bend thick and soldered cable to enroute around obstacle.

Check your setup if they were the same as mine.

Thanks Shirley

Yep that looks the same.

It’s coming back to me now.

They’ve been great connectors, no problems with whatsoever.

I use two lengths of M3 threaded rod which I pass through connectors through two holes drilled in seat base and clamp connector to underside of seat.

I use threaded bar cos can’t buy long enough M3 bolt.

How long?

50 and 70mm are easy to find.

They'd have probably been long enough. I ended up buying some short lengths of M3 threaded rod from Aliexpress.
