Yet another Segway wheelchair nut

Postby LeeinBucks » 05 Apr 2015, 12:00

Hi there, just introducing myself, I'm Lee I live in Bucks and I'm T7 Paraplegic, also another nut job whose converted a segway to use as a wheelchair. Still having issues with the parking stand and way of pushing down the sensors but using it regularly with heavy tool bags holding down the sensors and doing dodgy transfers, risking life and limb

Although it's a work in progress and looks rough, it's awesome, 11mph across a very deep sandy beach, through mud and snow, down tracks and across fields a regular wheelchair (power or manual) won't go. I recommend everyone at least try it, it's a blast and opens up so many doors - love it, even though it's still a bit dangerous.

Hey there. Awesome way of moving! Go and look at what we did with the "Landing gear" and how we use it for fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak9Kfj7-KoE

This one is available just as a bolt on system to a normal segway. Just 6 bolts and you are ready to have fun.
