Q700R Seat height adjustment

Postby sparkerted » 03 Apr 2026, 00:53

Hi BM, can someone please post a photo of the bolts that need adjusting to raise the seat height of a Q700r please, struggling to find any documents online that show the bolts to adjust, i am trying to avoid spacers but would do that as a last resort. I have manage to move a electric centre foot rest from the Q300m to the Q700r but its almost touching the ground! hence I need to adjust the seat height, thanks Mark

I didnt increase the overall height.
I increased the seat dump angle when the tilt is fully down/forwards so that it is sat at around 5 or 6 degrees of "dump". That also lifts the front/footrests some. But the primary purpose was nothing to do with footrest height. Although I adjusted the length of that too. Using spacers between seat front and lift.

It was to allow some "tilt" for comfort while fully down/forward. So that I wasnt bouncing around with my weight on the tilt actuator as I rolled. That feels flimsy and unstable, and eventually causes the actuator or seat tilt mechanism to fail too.

Which exact footrest do you have? What part is touching the ground?

This is configured to fit me 5' 10". So martin who is shorter than me doesent really fit here. His knees are too low and seat base set up too long.

Tilted back 6 degrees. Footrest well above ground. Thats to fit me.
In order to suit martin here, that footplate needs to come up 2 inches higher to make his thighs level up. His feet barely reach it.
This seat is not "tilted" it is lowered fully. Its BASE dump angle it set to 6 degrees on spacers.

Hi BM,
The clearance is about 15mm from floor to footplate, the dump might be the answer, what was the depth of the spacer please, url would be good, last spacers I bought for the DIetz had a very narrow diameter.
Photo attached.
Obviously the electric centremount foot plate (looks the same as yours) is at that angle to clear the caster wheels. but I note you changed your tyres front and back using original wheels?

Thanks Mark

Can I see a full side on picture?
You seat back (and seat) seems way too far forwards.

Spacers were 8mm bore, short at the rear, longer at the front. Actual length no idea as I just cut them to whatever length was correct at the time by eye.

Rear tyres are on stock rims but have a centre section added. So they are now 3 part rims. To make them a lot wider. And 120/70-8 tyres.
Front rims are stock.

couple of photos, so the dodgy green circles are the bolts for moving seat backwards and forwards? this is where I had a problem I had to move the seat forward to see the bolt holes to attach the Center mount footrest, but yes if most definitely needs moving backward I just don't yet see how to do that. blue are seat width adjustment?

It was a few years back. Yes the ones without the little while width adjustment arrows. Just undo everything and pull... See what does what. The seat lift mechanism was what I moved backwards I think.

Its a stupid design. The wheelbase is too long. The casters too close together. And that hinged beam at the back rocks side to side...

Its why I dont use mine and keep as a spare. Keep meaning to sell it.

Yes moved backrest and seat backwards as far as it would go and then moved the seat lift backwards. Thank you.
I wanted another used chair and the Q700r was available if there had been another Dietz sango advance available I would have had that instead of the Q700r, now the wait for a set of batteries from Amy.
